Federico Russotto (Roma1996) Nel 2014 realizza il suo primo cortometraggio Manuale per aspiranti suicidi, presentato in numerosi festival e proiettato nelle sale della catena Movie Planet. L’anno successivo il documentario Frullato Flaminio vince il secondo premio al concorso “Mamma Roma e i suoi Quartieri” e viene proiettato all’Isola del Cinema di Roma. Dopo il liceo si trasferisce a Londra dove studia regia e sceneggiatura alla Ravensbourne University. Nel 2019 è ammesso al corso di regia del Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma dove attualmente frequenta il terzo anno.
Federico Russotto was born in Rome in 1996. In2014 made his first short film Do-it-yourself-suicide which is premiered in various festivals. Next year his short documentary Frullato Flaminio won the second prize in the contest “Mamma Roma e I suoi Quartieri”. He studied directing and screenwriting in London at Ravensbourne University. In 2019 he is admitted to the directing course at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome where he is currently attending the third year.

SINOSSI BREVE
Aureliano e Simone sembrano appartenere a due mondi diversi. Parlano poco, la loro lingua comune è la scherma. Ad ogni affondo metteranno alla prova il loro talento e la loro lealtà.
Aureliano e Simone seem to belong to different planets. They don’t speak much, their common language is fencing. With each lunge they will test their talent and loyalty.
SINOSSI LUNGA
Aureliano, ragazzo sportivo e leale, è il campione e leader indiscusso della sua palestra di scherma. La sua maschera personalizzata con una striscia rossa è inconfondibile. Simone è il nuovo arrivato, viene dalla periferia e sembra un pesce fuor d’acqua in quella palestra alto borghese. Da subito però dimostra un talento fuori dal comune, un dono innato per quello sport. Aureliano è l’unico ad accorgersene e a scoprire anche il difficile rapporto tra Simone e suo padre, un uomo rozzo che malvolentieri viene a riprendere il figlio agli allenamenti e che insiste nel chiamarlo “principessa”. Aureliano, in pedana, riuscirà subdolamente a prevalere su Simone, per poi realizzare che l’unica cosa da preservare e difendere davvero, è l’innato e prezioso talento del suo avversario.
Aureliano is the sporty and loyal leader of his fencing gym. His customized mask with a red stripe is unmistakable. Simone is the newcomer, he comes from the suburbs and looks like an alien in that upper middle-class gym. However, he immediately shows an extraordinary talent, an innate gift for that sport. Aureliano is the only one to notice that and he also discovers the difficult relationship between Simone and his father, a rough man who reluctantly comes to take his son back to training and who insists on calling him “princess”. Aureliano will subtly succeed in prevailing over Simone, only to realize that the only thing to really preserve and defend is the innate and precious talent of his opponent.
